SAR & CERT Training Certifications

Everyday Hero Project is committed to helping our community be prepared for climate change and the consequences we face.

We are pleased to offer an ACTIVATE TOUR through our partnership with Boondocks K-9 Search & Rescue Unit Inc. - CERT.

This weekend-long training will certify you for two skills :

Search and Rescue Training-

When things go bad in the wild and you get stuck, an elite force of highly trained and well-paid rescue workers are deployed to find and rescue you. Unfortunately, the government can only afford about 4 of those guys, and depend on search and rescue volunteers to form the backbone of many rescue operations. Becoming a search and rescue, or SAR, volunteer can add meaning and adrenaline to your favorite outdoor activities.

CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Training-

This program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, which allows them to focus on more complex tasks. Through CERT, the capabilities to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters is built and enhanced.

ABOUT BOONDOCKS

***Boondocks k9 SAR - CERT is a Non Profit organization that started training in 2014 to provide our services for free to many organizations including, but not limited to FEMA, The American Red Cross, and AmeriCorps. We also provide assistance to our local community as a Community Emergency Response Team.
